    • Taking the time to research about your dog’s breed and identifying aggressive behavior signs is extremely important. Often the size of the dog can determine if a breed is classified as “dangerous.” Here is a list of 10 common dogs that can cause insurance rates to increase; Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Chow Chow, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Siberian Husky, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. But breed does not always determine a ‘dangerous dog,’ even a little chihuahua can have major aggression issues, but often times these little dogs are overlooked for their small size. Please take time to educate yourself and try to identify what triggers your dog to show signs of aggression. The next step is where we can help you identify aggression issues and triggers and suggest the best positive reinforcement solution for your dog. Please visit our FAQ page for additional resources*
Evaluation & Consultation
    • Aggression and misbehavior dog training is a disciplined process. Please call ahead of time to schedule an appointment, so we can make arrangements for you and your dog to visit. Please notify us if your dog has any aggression particularly towards men or women (or anything else worth noting), so we can be ready for you when you arrive. It’s very important to us that our staff feels safe at all times. If you have a mussel, please have the dog wear it if it applies to your case, or we are happy to provide you one upon arrival.
    • During the Evaluation and Consultation, here is where you can tell us your concerns and we can perform an in-depth evaluation on your dog so we can understand it’s temperament, training level, mindset, personality, history, identify its strengths, weakness, and what specifically triggers your dog to react negatively. It’s very important to us that we get to know your dog so we can invest quality, custom, and effective training to best help you and your dog. Once we establish a behavior profile, we can then recommend and discuss package options based on your dog’s issue severity.
Treatment
    • Once we have decided on the best treatment and timeline for your dog, we can then proceed to a customized training solution. All of our training methods are based on positive reinforcement. We understand that dogs can experience traumatic life events that could affect them for years, and often times their negative behavior is not their fault, but a reaction to their environment. We believe that animals can be delicate and dangerous at the same time; but we bridge a safe and healthy relationship between dog and owner. Every dog and situation is unique, and based on your unique case, we will customize your dog’s training solution. Here we will also discuss what results you an expect upon your dog’s graduation.
    • Part of our effective and successful treatment plans is due to the safe environment our facility offers. For dogs with aggression issues, we have a special area that provides a ‘hand’s-free’ kennel. These kennels allow our staff to care and service for your pet without having to enter your dog’s kennel while the dog is present (half of the kennel can be blocked off during servicing). These special kennels are also spacious (due to mostly large dogs), and the dogs are able to go inside or outside. It’s important to us that during your dog’s stay, it feels safe and cared for and that we provide special resources to our staff to provide custom care for your dog.
Closure
    • Upon your dog’s completion of his/her graduation and demonstration of new positive behavior, we close with a 90 min debrief. This allows us the time to explain and show how we introduced new positive behaviors, ask questions, and to talk about how your pet’s homecoming can be a smooth transition.
    • We will also discuss what new habits and/or behaviors are needed by the owner to make sure the pet receives on-going positive training and a thriving environment.
