FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All of our adult dogs are directly imported from the Czech Republic. They are thoughtfully hand selected based on temperament and health. Each dog is carefully evaluated to ensure they are suitable for both work and family life. Prior to importing, our dogs receive all of their foundational training to ensure success in our program and in their future families homes.

The first step to training with us is scheduling a consultation day. Consultations last around an hour and allow you and your dog to meet one on one with one of our trainers. During this time you can discuss any challenges you’ve been experiencing, and your overall goals for training.

During the time of your consultation, the trainer will evaluate your dog’s behavior and temperament. After this evaluation, the trainer will provide you a recommendation as to which of our services is the best fit for you and your dog.

Our Level 1 program is a 5 week program designed to focus on building reliable foundational obedience with your dog on leash. During their stay, your dog receives daily training in a structured environment primarily focusing on socialization, leash walking, and the core obedience commands.

At the end of the program, your dog will go home with a clear understanding of all foundational on leash obedience. Success at home after the program is highly dependent on consistency from the owner in maintaining what was learned during your dogs stay with us.

Dogs learn best through consistency. If we as their handlers are failing to enforce commands consistently, or if we bend rules and boundaries set in place depending on the situation, dogs quickly learn that listening is optional.

Balanced training focuses on combining positive reinforcement by rewarding desired behaviors; with clear and fair corrections for unwanted behaviors.

We believe the earlier training is started, the better. Puppies are sponges: constantly learning and absorbing information from the moment they come home. Beginning training early allows you to get a head start on basic obedience, as well as creating structure, engagement and boundaries with your dog which helps set the stage for continued success later in life.

Not at all. Dogs at any age can still be taught new behaviors. Even if your older dog has established certain undesirable behaviors, through consistent training and patience there can be significant improvements.

Dogs, especially working breeds, thrive with structure in their daily life. When your dog knows what is expected of them, it allows for less stress, more confidence, and overall better behavior.
