The Puppy Board & Train Camp is recommended for owners with new puppies who would like their puppy to receive an in-depth & on-leash obedience and house-training introduction. K-9 Specialists Puppy Board & Train Camp package focuses on educating not only your puppy, but also with an upmost importance on educating the owner of how to understand and interact with your puppy for a life-long successful relationship!

    *At 10 weeks old we can begin with The Evaluation & 1-on-1 Individual Sessions. 

    *Puppy Board & Train Camp begins as early as 4 months and as old as 6 months old after rabies vaccination. 

    *For 7 months and older, we recommend the Basic Obedience Camp.

What to expect

We recommend this program for owners with puppies over 16 weeks of age. By focusing our training system on creating effective communication with your puppy, we’re able to create beautiful and engaged on-leash obedience.

With our Puppy Board & Train Program, we give your puppy the tools to understand this strange human world and how to interact with it safely. Socialization, desensitization, and manners are all key for a young puppy to thrive as an adult dog. When it comes to life with dogs, it is a journey full of opportunities. Training is such a beneficial part of the journey you take together and is the basis of your relationship with your dog. K-9 Specialists’ Puppy Board and Train package is designed to educate your puppy on good behavior with positive reinforcement and serve as a guideline for the owner on how to understand their puppy for a life-long successful relationship. 

Upon completion, your puppy will have a basic introduction to environmental elements, socialization, and other animals. Your puppy will be crate trained and will be house-trained (will understand to relieve themself outside; being able to hold it depending on age). Your puppy will be able to perform the following commands on-leash in a language of your choice: Come, Sit, Down, and Heel. Upon pick-up of your puppy, you and your dog will receive a personal closure with one of our trainers upon your dog’s departure from our training facility.

Package Extra Add-On’s:

*Visitation: If you would like to visit your puppy after week 2, you are welcome to do so by appointment.

*In-Home Transition Option: To help ensure that you and your dog make a smooth transition from puppy training camp to coming home, we can arrange one of our trainers to visit you at your home. $80/Hr (Drive time not included).

Evaluation
    • We start with a full evaluation of the dog so we can understand their temperament, training level, mindset, personality, and identify strengths and weaknesses. It’s very important that we get to know your dog so we can invest quality and customized training to best advance your dog.
Environmental Soundness Exposure
    • It is important that your dog reacts positively and is comfortable in wide variety of environmental situations. We will want to make sure your dog is confident in public, private, quiet, and loud places. We want to introduce textures and objects such as tile flooring, carpet, mirrors, escalators, elevators, busy streets, stairs, etc. This package begins the introduction process of environmental soundness. 
Socialization
    • It is vital that your dog knows appropriate behavior around other people and animals. We want your dog, as well as who and what you allow your dog to interact with, to have positive experiences without negative reactions. This package begins the introduction process of socialization. 
House Training
    • Our basic obedience training program ensures that your dog will have appropriate habits while living with you in your home. Upon completion, your dog will build positive experiences with being crate trained. He/she will be happy to go to their crate because it’s their ‘bedroom.’ The crate is a den to your dog, a place of safety and rest. We will invest in teaching your dog to relieve themself outside.
Basic On-Leash Obedience
    • Showing dogs correct behavior and obedience takes time for your dog to learn and understand what is expected of him/her. With this basic on-leash training, your dog will develop confidence and want to perform basic commands. These commands can be customized to any language you choose. This program lays the foundation for the next step of off-leash training.
Playtime
    • Playtime is more than fun and games, but this is a special time where our trainers invest quality one-on-one time with your dog. Playtime helps build confidence and fosters the relationship we share with dogs. Trainers will interact with your dog by using toys, balls, touch, water, brushes, etc., and providing individual and customized attention.
